Glückwunsch zu deiner Homepage, sehr informativ und anregent. Da ich nach Umzug zu denen gehöre die Antennengeschädigt sind, freue ich mich um so mehr darauf einige deiner Antennen nachzubauen und zu testen.

Hi Colin, fine to meet you. I'm happy that you having lots of fun with the 40 meter antenna. If the 80 meter antenna having resonance on 3.900 MHz ist a good sign the it plays. The resonance frequency must going down, if you make the telescope antenne longer. 30cm aprox. 700 KHz...! Otherwise the cable works not together with the cable choke.....?

Is it the same cable what you use also for 40 meter (try winding the cable in the near of the choke, until the lenght is 7m)? Now looking for the swr on 40 meterband. If this ok, (really test it more times) and test it with 10 watts power and a fluorescent lamp. The light of a fluorescent lamp must going on in the middle of the coil until the end of the radiator and you don't no having lights on the cable, the choke is usable for 40 meter. Now try the same for 80 meterband and have a look on the light from the midle of coil until end of radiator. If you have light alongside the cable, the cable will not be good or the windings around the ferrit ring are not enough!!!

Take more then 15 windings of twisted 1-1,2mm diameter enameled copper wire around the ring. Try 18-20 windings for the first test. If it will not be better, the change the cable RG58. I have had a case, where the cable was so bad, that I have used on other hi hi.

Next test the soldering on the radiator and the soldering from the telescope antenne on the radiaor end. Make picture from all parts of your antenna an send it to my address you. I hope you will find the foul now.

Hi Arthur, I am still having lots of fun with the hairspray can antenne for 40 meters and have added a picture of it on QRZ.com, I had a QSO with an OM in Marlow (mecklenburg- vorpommern)using 1 Watt and the hairspray can antenna from my balcony, and received a report of 5/7, he was using a Delta Loop and 100 watts and I could also give him a report of 5/7, my QTH is Bonn, Bad Godesberg. I am having difficulty with an 80 Meter version using a 5l bierfaß, I cannot get the SWR below 3, at 3.900 Mhz the SWR is about 1.3 at 5watts, I have tried changing the number of turns, also longer or shorter telscopic ariel, the Verzögerungsleitung is 13,4 meters long for a Frequency of 3.690, and for the Gleichlaufstromsperre I have used 13 turns of RG58 on a 140/43er Ringkern and 4 meters of RG58 to TRX. I have missed something in the calculations but I cant see what, hope you can help, and thanks again for the links you sent me and your great website vy best 73 de DD5CF, Colin.

Über die Hühnerleitungsberechnung bin ich zum dl7ahw gestossen, und konnte mein Wissen gut steigern, und per Email hatter mir direkt geantwortet... klasse...

Klasse daß jemand versucht den Praktikern ein wenig Theorie ans Herz zu legen, um somit mit ein wenig Planung an den Antennenbau sich zu wagen.
Ebenso wern ma mal die Superantenne probieren, und gucken ob die Behauptungen stimmen....

Besonders kapazitive Antennen haben mich interessiert. Auf 40m und 20m habe ich sie probiert und bin sehr zufrieden.

Hi Arthur, I have built your Haarspraydosen antenne for 40m and I am always suprised at how far my signals go with only 1.5 watts (west Scottish islands longest distance sofar) in fact there is very little difference to the G5RV I use, thanks for the great website, my next project is something for 80m using your programm again. 73/72 de DD5CF, Colin.

Hallo Arthur,

lass Dich nicht unterkriegen. Es gibt viel zu viele selbsternannte "Antennenpäpste" denen nur ein lückenhafter technischer Hintergrund ausreicht um selbstherrlich an Anderen herumzunörgeln. Diese "Profi" haben in den meisten Fällen einen Spektrumanalyser, wenn überhaupt, mal in einem Prospekt gesehen.

Ich experimentiere sehr viel mit EZNEC und unterschiedlichen Antennen. Zusätzlich verfüge über einen umfangreichen Messgerätepark für HF-Messungen.

Gerade deshalb finde Deine Anregungen sehr hilfsreich.

supi hab des Ganze fürs 10m Band mal nachgebaut mit deiner Beschreibung zum Bau ist endlich wieder ordendlicher (normaler ) Funkverkehr möglich funktioniert auch prima mobil aufm Laster mit ner Plastikwohnung

Hello Robert and thanks for the entry in my guestbook. I can point out to my very small antennas it works near by ground or over the flat. But the antennas are good for travels because they use not more place like real hairspraycans...... for an antenna with more power have a look on this sites:

Hi Arthur, HP DL7AMW hat mir deine weg site url gegeben und ich glaube dass du einen Vorschlag parat haettest fuer einen verticalen verkuerzten Halbwellen dipol.Ich habe einen collinear dipol haengen fuer 30 und 40 meter. Fuer die hoeheren Baender benuetze ich eine 5el logperidodic. Ich moechte ne bessere (dx, flache Abstrahlung, verkuerzt )Antenne haben. Top loaded half wave vertical dipol. Ich betreibe nen IC-746 und bin in winmor qrv, 18103.5MHz USB/dial. Interesiert dich winmor?
Was meinst du zu der DX Vertical fuer 40m? sag mal was...
